Africa Day Cork

Africa Day 2026, a week of celebration honouring the cultures, heritage, and contributions of African communities in Cork - an annual commemoration of African unity, diversity, and achievement, led globally by the African Union.

Together with African community groups, Cork City Council, the HSE, Community Gardaí and NGOs, Cork City hosts a vibrant programme of events that highlight the cultural richness and growing African‑Irish community in Cork.

The Family Fun Day is the flagship event, bringing together families, performers, community groups, food vendors, and artists for a day filled with music, dance, children’s activities, cultural stalls, sports, crafts, and vibrant entertainment. With support from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, all 31 Local Authorities across Ireland host cultural, artistic, and family-friendly events to celebrate the people and culture of African countries.
