Local Community Development Committee (LCDC)
The Cork City Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) brings together people from Cork City Council, state agencies, and community and voluntary groups to work on community development and social inclusion in Cork City.
Its job is to make sure local services and programmes work better together, are well planned, and meet the real needs of communities through the Local Economic and Community Plan (LECP) 2024-2029 LECP 2024–2029 - Cork City Council
The LCDC supports community involvement, helps use funding more effectively, and looks for new funding opportunities. It manages funding schemes such as the Local Enhancement Programme (LEP) on behalf of the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht (DRCDG) Local Enhancement Programme 2026
Cork City LCDC also supports Cork City Partnership to deliver key programmes like the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP 2024-2028) Overall, it helps make community services in the city more joined-up, efficient, and focused on improving people’s lives.
