Cork City Council invites public to view package of pedestrian safety schemes at 8 locations across the city
Cork City Council is seeking public feedback on a series of pedestrian safety and accessibility improvement projects proposed for eight locations across the city and suburbs.
The proposed works form part of the City Council's ongoing commitment to enhancing road safety, improving connectivity, and making it easier and safer for people to walk to schools, homes, public transport services, community facilities and local businesses.
The proposed schemes will also support more sustainable travel choices across the city.
The batch includes new signal-controlled crossings, zebra crossings, footpath improvements, pedestrian refuge islands and accessibility upgrades designed to provide safer crossing points and better links for pedestrians.

- Donovan's Road / Connaught Avenue – Upgrade of existing informal crossing points to a standard zebra crossing and improved pedestrian crossing facilities, along with associated footpath and signage works;
- Kerry Road at Tower Playground – Upgrade of the existing crossing to a raised zebra crossing to provide a safer crossing point for pedestrians;
