Council Choir hits the Right Notes with Choral Festival Win

Congratulations to the City Hall Singers who won Workplace Choir of the Year at the Cork International Choral Festival at the weekend.

It is one of the most keenly contested competitions in the prestigious festival.

The City Hall Singers, under conductor, Lorna Moore, won with a gorgeous rendition of the Louis Armstrong classic, ‘What a Wonderful World’, pipping Scrubs, the Cork University Hospital Choir, into second place.

They were among more than 5,000 singers from all over Ireland and abroad who were in Cork over the weekend to take part in the International Choral Festival, bringing a massive boost to the city over the May Bank Holiday weekend.

The City Hall Singers practice in City Hall after work every Tuesday. And they are always looking for new members. You just have to enjoy singing.
