Update on Public Realm Projects

We have some great news for some of our city centre public realm projects!

Parnell Plaza, located at the junction of South Mall and Parnell Bridge, is now open for everyone to enjoy riverside views in the upgraded public realm. Featuring new extensive landscaping and seating, it’s a new sunny spot to take a breather in the heart of the city, and is part of the ongoing Morrison’s Island Public Realm and Flood Defence Scheme.

Seamus Murphy Bridge and the new riverside walkway linking Proby’s Quay to South Main Street is also now open for your sunny strolls and cycles around our city’s medieval spine.

Parliament Bridge is lit! The bridge’s lighting columns were re-cast using original Victorian-period moulds by William Sugg & Co. Ltd., to preserve their original design. Sugg & Co. also made the original lamps that stood on St. Patrick’s Bridge.

Thank you for your patience while we worked on these projects, looking forward to more good news to come!
