In 1926 tenders were requested, part funded by reparation payments made by the British government as compensation for the Burning of Cork, for the first major social housing in Cork City after the establishment of the Irish Free State.
This walk with Cllr. Dan Boyle explains how this came about and its importance in Cork's development of the city.
