City Tunes up for 47th Cork Folk Festival this Weekend

Cork city will host one of the country’s finest and longest-established music festivals, the 47th Cork Folk Festival, this weekend, October 8-11.
Lovers of traditional and folk music will enjoy headline acts including the iconic Donegal band Altan, ace accordionist Máirtín Ó Connor, and Sliabh Luachra’s finest, Jackie Daly & Matt Cranitch and much more.
A historic gala concert celebrating 100 years of traditional music on Irish radio, curated by Peter Browne, will take place on Saturday October 10 – part of Cork City’s local programme for Cultúr 2026, the culture programme for Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2026.
Why not take part in a pop-up Céilí, a singer’s circle or a walking singing tour, or celebrate ‘Trad at the Fort’ on Sunday – there is something for everyone.
Cork Folk Festival is a Cork city festival proudly grant-aided by Cork City Council.
