Public Survey - Cork and Cork County Indoor Swimming

22/05/2026

Cork City and County are preparing a high-level study to identify public indoor swimming infrastructure deficits across the City and County.

The results of this study will be used to inform future demand and planning of public indoor swimming infrastructure which will be required to serve the growing population of Cork.

The study will develop the findings of the recently published Swim Ireland report (“Swimming Facilities Gap Analysis Report) specifically for Cork City and County.

The objective of the study is the identification of a coordinated programme of potential investments in public indoor swimming facilities for which funding can be sought in a strategic and planned way.

The study will be informed by the public survey which help us to understand the views of both current indoor public swimming pool users and members of the public who do not currently use public swimming facilities.

The survey is open for responses through to 21st June and may be extended.
