Cork’s Local Enterprise Offices to showcase 50 local businesses at Cork Summer Show

Local Enterprise Offices (LEOs) in Cork City and County are delighted to support 50 small and micro local businesses in this year’s Local Enterprise Zone during the highly anticipated Cork Summer Show which takes place on Saturday and Sunday, 20th and 21st June at the Cork Showgrounds, Curraheen.


The Local Enterprise Zone will be home to a vibrant hub of innovation, creativity, and community, offering a platform for LEO supported clients to showcase and sell their products and services. Visitors can expect a diverse range of offerings from local entrepreneurs including craft, wellbeing, fashion, art, services, photography, homeware, food samples and gifts. 


The initiative underscores the ongoing commitment of Cork’s Local Enterprise Offices to foster entrepreneurship and support small businesses, helping them reach new audiences and grow sustainably. 

The Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr. Fergal Dennehy welcomed the initiative, stating
“Cork City’s continued success is driven by its dynamic business community, with initiatives such as the Local Enterprise Zone at the Cork Summer Show providing meaningful, practical support to local enterprises. This is a great opportunity for these small businesses to have the opportunity to meet customers face to face, and develop their marketing and sales skills. The partnership between the Local Enterprise Offices in Cork City and County reflects a strong, shared commitment to strengthening and expanding the local economy.”

The Local Enterprise Zone will be open to the public throughout the weekend, offering visitors a chance to meet the makers, sample local produce and support the thriving local business community that is the backbone to Cork’s economy.

The Local Enterprise Offices (LEOs), located in the Local Authorities and funded through Enterprise Ireland, support thousands of small Irish businesses and entrepreneurs nationwide.  Since their establishment in 2014 they have been the first stop for entrepreneurs and small businesses in providing a range of supports including funding, mentoring, training and sector specific expertise to help guide businesses at any stage of their development.  


They also run key initiatives to foster entrepreneurship across the country including Local Enterprise Week, National Women’s Enterprise Day, the Student Enterprise Programme and the National Enterprise Awards.  

The Local Enterprise Offices are also running a campaign encouraging small businesses to save time, money and energy by availing of their competitiveness and productivity supports including Green, Lean and Digital for Business.
