NextGen Solidarity 10k

The Sports Development team is delighted to collaborate with Cork City Marathon, The Sanctuary Runners and Analog Devices to encourage young people to take part in the 10k race on Marathon Day. The project is run by our Sports Development team and the Sanctuary Runners. The theme of this run is "Solidarity With All” and we are asking participating students to be "Flagbearers for Solidarity". 

Register

Schools can register for the event by following the steps below.

  1. Contact sports@corkcity.ie to book a time from Graham and Dan to come to the school to speak about the initiative and encourage people to take part

  1. Start working on a list of participants - don’t forget to take their running top sizes

  1. Send us a list of the participants and we will provide booking links via email to the parents of the students. Registration for the race is €15

  1. Running shirts will be provided by Sanctuary Runners for all participants

  1. Start training! – Contact daniel_fox@corkcity.ie to book training in your school to prepare for the race day, this includes running drills, pacing and how to warm up for race day!

  1. Additional training sessions with Sanctuary Runners in the evenings will also be available from mid-April.

  1. Saturday May 30th and Sunday May 31st – opportunities for students to volunteer at the Sanctuary Runner stand in the Cork City Marathon Expo in City Hall

  1. Sunday May 31st – RACE DAY
