Ellie Cogan Lavelle

Ellie Cogan Lavelle is a youth advocate from Cork who is deeply committed to ensuring that the voices of young people are heard and valued in spaces where they are often underrepresented. She is passionate about creating opportunities for meaningful youth participation and believes strongly in the power of young people to influence decisions that shape their lives and futures.

Much of Ellie’s advocacy centres on inclusion and climate action, reflecting her commitment to building a fairer, healthier and more sustainable future for the next generation. She has been actively involved with Cork City Comhairle na nÓg, where she is currently working to raise awareness of the housing crisis and its impact on young people, ensuring that their experiences and concerns are brought to the attention of decision-makers.

Ellie has also collaborated with organisations including the YMCA, the Irish Second-Level Students’ Union (ISSU) and the National Youth Council of Ireland (NYCI). Through these roles, she has sought to be part of positive change, advocating for issues that matter to young people and contributing to actions that promote greater equity, participation and opportunity.
