Cork has become the first city in the world outside the United States of America to host the original Gilbert Baker Rainbow Flag - the global symbol of LGBTI+ pride, visibility, inclusion and equality.

Cork Public Museum is delighted to announce the opening of its latest exhibition We Were Always Here – Cork LGBT History.

Deputy Lord Mayor of Cork Cllr. Gary O’Brien and local elected members of the Northeast Ward accompanied Chief Executive of Cork City Council, Valerie O’Sullivan on a walk of the new Glanmire Greenway, which opened to the public today.

This week, Cork City will turn into one big food festival with 5 days of food flavour and fun, more than 150 events, including 80 free experiences, demonstrations and workshops, three spectacular long-table dinners and over 40 unique dining events at Cork on a Fork Fest.

Organised by Cork City Council, Cork Heritage Open Day will take place on Saturday August 15th with 42 buildings opening their doors for free for one day only.
