Cork's newest bridge is currently under construction and will provide a new pedestrian and cyclist crossing from Merchants Quay to Harley's Street.

Cork City Council put out a call for nominations for a name for the new bridge. Suggested names which honour, celebrate, or remember a person, group or events of significance that have helped to shape the City of Cork will be considered.

The closing date for bridge name nominations was Thursday 15th of November 2018.

A total of 17no. unique names were submitted for consideration. 

All nominations will be reviewed by a committee before a shortlist is put back out for public consultation. A final decision will be made by the elected members of Cork City Council early in 2019.
