Traffic Signals

Traffic signals and pedestrian crossings play an important role in managing traffic and helping pedestrians, cyclists and motorists travel safely throughout Cork City.

If you notice a fault with a traffic signal, pedestrian signal or cyclist crossing, you can report it to Cork City Council. 

Report a Traffic Signal Fault

Examples of faults that can be reported include:

  • Traffic signals not working
  • Damaged traffic signals
  • Traffic signal lamps not illuminated
  • Pedestrian signals not operating
  • Pedestrian push buttons not operating
  • Audible pedestrian crossing signals not working

Report Faulty or Out-of-Order Traffic Signals 

To report a faulty traffic signal or signal lamp within the Cork City boundary, you can: 

  • Submit a fault through Cork City Council's Customer Service Request form here
  • Call +353 (0)21 4924000 during business hours 
  • Call Cork City Council's Out-of-Hours/Emergency Contact Number on +353 (0)21 4966512 outside business hours

Creating a Customer Service Request

  • Log in to the Customer Service Request page here
  • Under options, select 'Potholes and other Road-Related Hazards (including Traffic Lights)'
  • Complete the form, providing the location of the fault and a detailed description of the issue
