Cork City Council would like to advise that a period of very high astronomical spring tides is expected from this Wednesday, November 5, lasting until Saturday evening, November 8.

The Lord Mayor of Cork Cllr. Fergal Dennehy visited Mahon to view the recently completed Mahon Street Renewal Scheme. The scheme is Cork’s first community wide streetscape renewal programme, aimed at providing improved streets which are safer and provide multi-modal connected links to schools, retail, sport and leisure within the Mahon area.

Cork City Council has commenced preliminary work on an Urban Framework plan for North Blackpool/Kilbarry which was identified as one of the City’s strategic expansion areas in the current Cork City Development Plan.

Cork City is proud to announce that five outstanding community groups have been shortlisted for the prestigious IPB Pride of Place Awards 2025, taking place on Friday, November 7th at the Strand Hotel, Limerick.

A Cork city community has planted rain gardens in the city’s first learn-to-cycle track as part of an exciting project backed by Cork City Council that is now being hailed as a model for other urban neighbourhoods.

The EnergyCloud Age Friendly Initiative – a collaboration between Cork City Council, Cork City Age Friendly, and EnergyCloud Ireland, a charity supported by Irish utility providers and wind energy companies which uses innovative solutions to divert renewable energy to Irish homes at risk of fuel poverty – won the environment category section of the National Age Friendly Recognition and Achievement Awards.

Coffee pots & pumpkins were the order of the day at Cork City Hall recently as Lady Mayoress of Cork, Karen Brennan, launched the Lady Mayoress’ Coffee Morning in Aid of Marymount University Hospital & Hospice which will take place on Thursday 30 October in Millenium Hall, Cork City Hall. 

Last night, Wednesday October 15, Cork City Hall played host to a special civic reception hosted by the Lord Mayor to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Cork Public Museum, marking eight decades of cultural preservation, public service, and community pride.

Cork County Hall will come alive with creativity and collaboration on Wednesday, the 22nd of October as artists, community leaders, educators, and advocates from across the region gather for the inaugural Community Arts Networking Day, a joint initiative from the Cork County Council and Cork City Council Arts Offices.
