It will take place on Lapps Quay (directly across the river from City Hall) from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in association with Meitheal Mara, Ocean to City and Let’s Play Cork.

This is a kick-off event in a series of 7 planned events. The full list of events can be found below,

Cork City Marathon  - June 1

Organised by Cork City Council, the marathon has three distances: the Full Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K race. The routes weave through Cork City’s scenic and vibrant streets and suburbs, past iconic landmarks and along the bustling quays. The incredible support from Corkonians lining the streets, paired with the camaraderie among participants, guarantees a memorable day for all.

The Cork City Marathon is open to all, from elite athletes chasing records to first-time runners tackling personal goals. It's more than a race—it’s about community, resilience, and making a difference.

Building on the €200,000 raised for 58 charity partners in 2024, we aim to double this target in the coming years. With our new tagline ‘Your Race, Their Hope.’ We encourage participants to run for causes close to their hearts, making every stride on June 1 count towards vital, life-changing work.

The full marathon kicks off at 8.15am on Patrick Street, followed by the 10k at the same location at 8.45am. The half marathon starts at Monahan Road at 10.15am. And if you are following a friend, you can track their progress in real-time on the free Cork City Marathon race-tracking app downloadable from your app store of choice. Runners should also familiarise themselves with information on bag drop, race number collection, road closures, and course details — all of which are available at  www.corkcitymarathon.ie.
