The Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr Damian Boylan raised the Irish and EU flags above City Hall today to proudly mark the moment Ireland’s assumes the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, and to celebrate our shared values and strong European partnerships.

The Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr Damian Boylan, marked the successful completion of a series of enhancement projects in Blarney and Tower, funded under the 2023 Town and Village Renewal Scheme (TVRS), during a series of visits to both communities on Thursday, 25 June 2026.

Cork City Council and Ballincollig Tidy Towns joined forces to help the town represent Ireland in the prestigious international Communities in Bloom (CiB) competition.

The Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr Damian Boylan, has welcomed judges of the 32nd edition of the international Communities in Bloom (CiB) competition to Cork as they judge Ireland’s representative in the competition – Ballincollig, the country’s 2024 National Tidy Towns winner.
