Section 13 Notice of Adoption of Variation No. 1 (Maximum Car Parking Standards) to the Cork City Development Plan 2022 – 2028.

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to Section 13 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended), that Cork City Council made Variation No. 1 (Revised Parking Standards on a City-wide basis) of the Cork City Development Plan 2022 - 2028 at the Ordinary Council Meeting of Monday, dated 8th May 2023 and takes effect from the day that it was made.

Variation No. 1 (Revised Parking Standards on a City-wide Basis) of the Cork City Development Plan 2022 – 2028 relates to the following:

  • Amend the Written Statement of Volume 1: Cork City Development Plan 2022-2028 by Updating Table 4.6 (Parking Zones);
  • Revising Table 11.13 (Maximum Car Parking Standards) relating to a number of destination land -use categories;
  • Consequential text changes in Volume 1, Chapter 4 Transport and Mobility and Chapter 11 Placemaking and Managing Development;
  • A new map in Volume 2: Mapped Objectives to define the car parking zones spatially (Chapter E: Car Parking Zones).

Section 13 Notice of Adoption of Variation No. 2 (Cork Docklands) to the Cork City Development Plan (as varied) 2022-2028

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to Section 13 of the Planning & Development Act 2000 (as amended), that Cork City Council made Variation No. 2 (Cork Docklands) of the Cork City Development Plan 2022 - 2028 at the Ordinary Council Meeting of Monday, dated 14th July 2025 as amended by the recommendations in the Chief Executive’s Report. The Variation takes effect from the day it was made.

The Variation comprises of three elements:

  • Part A: Updates to “Volume 1: Written Statement” of the Cork City Development Plan 2022-2028 where it relates to “Chapter 10: Key Growth Areas and Neighbourhood Development Sites (2. City Docks)”. Consequential text changes arise within “Chapter 1: Introduction”, “Chapter 11: Placemaking and Managing Development” and “Chapter 12 Land Use Zoning Objectives”.
  • Part B: A series of mapping updates in “Volume 2: Mapped Objectives” of the City Development Plan that relate to Map 01, (Land use zoning), Map 02 (Infrastructure) and Chapter D (Drainage).
  • Part C: A new “Volume 4” of the City Development Plan which contains an overview of the design strategies arising from the Framework Plan and inclusion of Supplementary Guidance.

A copy of the Final Planner’s Report, adopted variation and associated final environmental reports and determinations are available for inspection at the following locations and times.
