Cork City Council to launch KinShip 2026 EcoLab programme
15/04/2026
The 2026 KinShip EcoLab programme will be launched at Cork City Hall Council Chambers on Saturday, April 18th from 1–2pm. All are welcome to attend.
The KinShip Project, supported through Cork City Council by the Creative Ireland Programme, takes place in Tramore Valley Park and focuses on bringing people together to engage with the environment and the park’s history as a former landfill site.
At the heart of the project is 'den talamh', an award-winning EcoLab structure designed by Fuinneamh Workshop Architects. Built using rammed earth, the space is used for workshops, events, and community activities linked to climate awareness and sustainability. The project has received several awards, including recognition from the Architectural Association of Ireland and the Big See Awards. The launch will include a screening of a short film by Cork filmmaker Linda Curtin about the construction of the EcoLab.
This year’s programme, led by Nature Network Ireland in partnership with Cork City Council and local organisations, will run from May to October and includes dance events, nature walks, storytelling workshops, and sound experiences in the park.
