Cork Heritage Open Day took place on Saturday, August 16th and celebrated the amazing architecture and history of the built heritage in Cork city.
This event included guided tours of historical buildings, walks, talks and exhibitions on our rich heritage throughout the city.
Over 35 buildings opened their doors to the public and all events were free of charge. All were very well attended with every guided tour and talk booked up and many having waiting lists.
This year Cork Heritage Open Day celebrated its 20th anniversary. Initially an event for European Capital of Culture in 2005, it has gone from strength to strength and is a testament to how much Cork people love their city and its magnificent heritage.
Cork Heritage Open Day is organised by Cork City Council in partnership with the Heritage Council and marks the start of National Heritage Week in Cork City.
The Echo is the media sponsor of Cork Heritage Open Day.
