Roam Cork is a creative health and wellbeing initiative developed by Cork City Council in partnership with Irish Hospice Foundation and funded through Creative Ireland’s Creative Health and Wellbeing in the Community programme.
The project was designed to respond to experiences of grief, loss, and isolation in Cork’s Northside communities, particularly among older adults and children who were deeply affected by the pandemic. Through art, music, and shared creative experiences, Roam Cork created spaces for connection, reflection, and joy.
From late 2024 to summer 2025 local artists worked with schools, older adult groups, and community networks to deliver workshops, exhibitions, and a digital trail. The programme included bespoke artist training, grief literacy sessions, and intergenerational events, all aimed at fostering resilience and wellbeing.
Roam Cork demonstrates the power of creativity to support healing and strengthen community ties.
