Children Across Cork Called on to ‘Deck the Bus Shelters’ this Christmas.
19/09/2025
For the second year running, Cork City Council is calling on children across Cork to ‘deck the bus shelters’ across the city this Christmas.
As part of CORKMAS, the celebration of Christmas in Cork, children aged from 4-11 are being encouraged to visit their local library to pick up a CORKMAS artwork sheet or draw their very own CORKMAS character. To be in with a chance of having their artwork featured in a Bus Shelter in the city, children must return their masterpieces to their local library before the closing date of October 8.
Last year, 27 children from across the city had their creations featured in bus shelters during the festive period. From depictions of Santa delivering presents, a festive Shandon Tower and Bells to the iconic Tree of Remembrance, last year’s artwork brought some festive cheer to the streets of Cork.
Over the coming weeks, the CORKMAS programme of events will be announced, highlighting the best of what Christmas in Cork has to offer across hospitality, retail and culture.
For more information on how children can participate in the CORKMAS artwork project and details on upcoming Christmas events, visit the Cork City Council website or contact your local library.
