Saint Oliver's Cemetery, Carrigrohane
Following the funeral mass of Rory Gallagher on June 19, 1995, he was taken the few miles to Saint Oliver’s Cemetery.
Here Rory would not be alone without family as past relatives are also buried here.
In what was pouring rain that day, final prayers were made with Rory's Family, colleagues, friends and thousands of fans looking on.
After the settling of his plot a unique headstone was made to mark the place where he was buried. Based on the Melody Maker award he won in 1972 for best international musician.
Rory Gallagher's memory, music and legacy lives on through all those that love his music.
Words can only say so much on their own and can fall short in describing succinct feelings here.
Accompanied by the power of music can we hope to articulate and relate.
