Rory Gallagher's Stompin' Ground Cork City Walking Trail
The Rory Gallagher Stompin’ Ground City Walking Trail has been developed in partnership between Cork City Libraries and the Cork Public Museum with the Rory Gallagher estate.
The trail is a permanent legacy highlighting the places and streets where Rory lived, learnt and performed.
Launched in June 2025, the trail is a starting point for more to come. The project is keen to expand and refresh its content with further trail points, archive and stories.
We would also like to thank the many people past and present who documented events and memories.
While every care has been made to quote and credit, Strange Music Ltd have provided the information and images from archive donated or acquired copyright ownership at the time and the content is provided by their courtesy and access.
Should you have a Rory story to tell, provide further detail to the trail points, or any notable amendments, please email: info@rorygallagher.com
The Rory Gallagher Stompin’ Ground City Walking Trail would not have been possible without the contributions of Cork Historian, Michael Lenihan.
The venues along the trail all deserve special thanks for helping to facilitate and host the trail point placards on or near the place where Rory Gallagher was present during his life and career here in Cork.
THANK YOU
Listen to the Rory Gallagher song that inspired the trail’s name-
