There was great excitement in Glanmire last week at the prize giving ceremony where the overall winner of the 2022 Anti-Dog Fouling Primary School’s Poster Competition was announced.  This year’s overall winner is Sadhbh O’Neil, a 5th class pupil from St. Joseph's National School in Riverstown, Glanmire.

The standard of entries was extremely high again this year and Sadhbh’s entry was top of the class.  Sadhbh’s poster ticked all the boxes – it was bright, colourful and reinforced the message of personal responsibility of dog owners to clean after their dogs. - Description: St. Anthonys NS Ballinlough Dog Fouling Poster Comp

She won a €100 gift voucher, a trophy and €500 for her school and her artwork has been made into a Cork City Council’s official Anti Dog Fouling Poster for 2022.

The competition, now in its sixth year, is organised and run by the Dog Fouling Awareness Sub Committee of Council in conjunction with the Litter Management Section of Cork City Council.

The Dog Fouling Awareness Sub Committee, through public awareness campaigns, works to bring about behavioural and attitude change with dog owners’ responsibility to clean up after their dog being to the forefront of the Committee’s messaging.
