Glen & Mayfield Walking & Cycling Scheme

Works Extent

This project entails active travel improvements between Blackpool and Tinkers Cross, in the Glen and Mayfield areas of Cork City.

Objectives

• Provision of new pedestrian and cycle facilities in the area;
• Upgrade existing pedestrian and cycle facilities in the area;
• Provision of continuous pedestrian and cycle route;
• Provision of permeability pedestrian and cycle links into adjacent communities to encourage use of sustainable transport by commuters, residents and students in the area;
• Integration of local amenities and services within the study area.

Timeline

Start: Consultants appointed in Q3 2021, Concept and Option Selection complete in 2023.

Finish:Preliminary Design & Planning to progress in 2024.
