Cork City Council has prepared an Area Action Plan for the South Parish area of the City. The plan area is located on the south bank of the River Lee’s southern channel as it runs through the city. The boundary extends in the east to Eglinton Street and the South City Link Road. It includes the area around St. Fin Barre’s Cathedral and Elizabeth Fort in the west and the southern boundary runs along Tower Street, Evergreen Street and Summerhill South.
The South Parish Area Action Plan was adopted by the Member’s of Cork City Council at the Ordinary Council Meeting of March 15th 2010 subject to the City Manager’s report and recommendations of March 5th 2010.
