Local Community Safety Partnership
The Cork City Local Community Safety Partnership (LCSP) is a group of 30 members who work together to enhance Community Safety in Cork City. It is a statutory committee established in October 2025 following the commencement of the Policing, Security and Community Policing Act. The Safety Partnership meets six times a year including an annual public meeting.
What is Community Safety?
The concept of community safety is about people being safe and feeling safe in their community.
The new Community Safety Policy Paper will ensure communities are safer and feel safer by making community safety a whole of Government responsibility and priority, to be delivered through Local Community Safety Partnerships (LCSPs), supported through a national governance structure.
Membership
Local Community Safety Partnerships unite government, statutory services, the voluntary sector, local councillors, and community members to address local community safety issues. Members include; representatives from An Garda Síochána, Cork City Council, HSE, Tusla, Cork ETB, Cork City Councillors as well as members who represent residents and communities across the city.

Vacancies
The Partnership is currently seeking representatives in the following areas:
- Youth and Family
- Domestic, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (DSGBV)
- The Justice System (including people who have experienced prison and their families, probation services, the Courts Service, victims and victim support services).
Membership is a voluntary position. Members attend approximately six meetings each year and serve an initial three-year term, with the possibility of a second and final term. Meetings are generally held at Cork City Hall on Tuesdays at 4.30pm.
Objectives of the Cork City Local Community Safety Partnership
- Prioritise issues identified by the community as safety concerns
- Ensure community engagement and representation on Safety Partnerships
- Develop a Local Community Safety Plan which will reflect priorities identified by the community
- Improve multi-agency collaboration in the Safety Partnership area
- Increase community confidence in service providers
- Service providers will be accountable to the community in fulfilling the agreed actions identified in the Local Community Safety Plan
