Heritage Week 2010

Ag Ceiliúradh Oidhreacht Cathrach Chorcaí

Heritage Week 2010 was yet another big success in Cork City.  A series of heritage related events were organized by Cork City Council, community groups, heritage and historical societies and individuals.   The aim of these events was to raise awareness, appreciation and knowledge of Heritage in Cork City.

Cork City Council would like to thank all those organisations who assisted in making Heritage Week so successful and was delighted to support and promote Heritage Week 2010 at a local level in Cork City.  The week is co-coordinated nationally by the Heritage Council with support from the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government and it is part of European Heritage Days, a joint initiative of the Council of Europe and the European Union.
Please remember that many of the buildings, sites, museums and parks featured during Heritage Week are open to visit and enjoy the whole year round not just during Heritage Week.
