Painting Grants Scheme - Blackpool Area

Cork City Council and the RAPID Programme are funding a scheme of painting grants for the Blackpool Area.  The value of a well maintained façade (elevation/wall) and vibrant paint colours to the quality of the environment cannot be underestimated.  It serves to improve the general streetscape and environment.  The closing date for receipt of application is 30th June ’09 and due to bad weather conditions the closing date has been extended. Applicants now have until the 13th November ’09 to submit a claim to the Council under the Scheme.

 Funding Available :

Funding is available primarily for both residential and commercial premises. Other elements such as boundary walls, large entrance gates to commercial properties may also be eligible for consideration based on the level of improvement to the streetscape which would be gained from painting.

The level of funding available is as follows:

For residential properties: 75% of the total cost of the external painting works up to a maximum of €300.

For commercial properties: 50% of the total cost of the external painting works up to a maximum of €500.

Area to which scheme will apply:

As funds are limited, the scheme will be administered on a first come, first served basis.  Cork City Council has defined a boundary within which the scheme will be run.  It encompasses the heart of Blackpool Village and includes (part of): Watercourse Road, Thomas Davis Street, Dublin Street, Beasley Street, Seminary Road, Great William O’Brien Street, O’Connell Street, and Berwick Lane.
