French Ambassador visits City Hall

The French Ambassador to Ireland, Mr. Yvon Roe d’Albert and his wife, Marie-Claude, paid a courtesy visit to the Lord Mayor’s Chamber, City Hall, on 1st March 2010. 

The Ambassador thanked the Lord Mayor and told him how much he enjoyed his visits to Cork  “my visits to Cork have always given me great pleasure” said Mr. d’Albert “and I look forward to paying private visits in the future.”  In response, the Lord Mayor thanked Mr. d'Albert for being "a good friend to the city", the Ambassador having made several visits to Cork over the years and was instrumental in bringing French naval vessels to the Port of Cork.

Lord Mayor makes a presentation of a Cork Crystal Clock to the French Ambassador.  

The Ambassador and his wife were in Cork for the 21st Cork French Film Festival which opened on 28th February with a sold-out showing of 'Cartagema' at the Gate Cinema.
