Celebrating Bonfire Night - Tuesday, 23rd June 2009 - responsibly

Summer Fun Nights in Cork city - Tuesday 23rd June 2009


Mahon – Lough Mahon Park, 6.30 pm to 9.30 pm
Come join the fun with music, face-painting, sports, fire performers and an organised community bonfire. Local groups - The Wallstreet Thieves, Stephen Manning Jnr., Look Left and The Shed  - will be performing. E vents are free and all are welcome.

Children need to be accompanied by an adult. This is an alcohol-free event.

Togher - Clashduv Park, 6 pm to 9.30 pm
All are welcome at Clashduv Park which will feature a packed day of sports, performances from Togher Children’s Theatre, music, arts and crafts, drumming workshops and much, much more. There is something for all age groups with bouncy castles, train, Teddy Bears picnic and much more. In the evening, at 8.30 pm, there will be an organised bonfire.
Events are free and all are welcome. Bring a picnic. Children need to be accompanied by an adult. This is an alcohol-free event

Knocknaheeney – Kilmore Road Park 5 pm to 8 pm
There will be some thing for all ages at Kilmore Road Park Knocknaheeny with penalty shoot outs, demonstrations from Munster Rugby, gymnastics and dance performances, children’s Ffncy dress competition, face painting and karaoke, bungee run, bouncy castle and much, much more…
All events are free and children need to be accompanied by an adult. This is an alcohol-free event.

Farranree -  Pophams Park 4 to 7 pm
All are welcome family fun day in Pophams Park featuring performances from the S-Factor and Extreme Marshal Arts, music, face painting, sports, bouncy castles and much, much more…

Project, Home School Community Liaison, Scoil Íosagáin, Scoil Aiséirí, North Presentation Secondary School, An Garda Síochána, H.S.E. Springboard, H.A.Z., Farranree Family Resource Centre, P.A.K.T Project, Na Piarsaigh G.A.A., Little Steps Childcare Service, Bus Éireann and Cork City Council.



Newbury House (Mayfield Community Arts Centre)  (5 – 7pm)
Pizza night, face painting, treasure hunt and music for under 12s (must be accompanied by an adult).

Kerrigan Tyrell Centre (8pm – 10 pm, post primary age) will feature breakdancing, demonstration, Graffiti workshops, DJ, comedy and dance performances from local young people. Free but ticketed.  For further information contact Nora at Mayfield Arts Centre 021-4530434.

Blackpool – Blackpool Community Centre 7.30 to 9.30 pm
Blackpool Youth Association is holding a soccer tournament, party and visit to The Planet entertainment complex.

Events involve sports tournaments, Arts and Crafts and fun games for children (5 years plus)
