Cork Science and Investment Park Access Road Phase 1

Planning/Design Phase

Works Extent

A new road of length approximately 2,100 metres linking the existing N40 Curragheen Interchange with an existing roundabout located within the Cork Institute of Technology campus. The road will include pedestrian/cycle facilities, a segregation area and access spurs to facilitate future third-party developments.  Two bridges are required along the length of the road to cross the Curragheen River. In addition, improved works to the existing N40 Curragheen Interchange will be required, which will comprise modifications to the northern roundabout and provision of a free flow slip lane from the N40 eastbound off slip to the access road.  Other consequential construction works will also be required to complete the development.  All works will be located within the townlands of Carrigrohane and Ballinaspig More.
