City Development Plan
The Cork City Development Plan 2015-2021was made by Council Members on 23rd March 2015 and came into effect 20th April 2015. The Plan is Cork City Council’s main strategic planning policy document and it will guide the future development of the city for the period up to 2021.
Variations to the City Development Plan
Following adoption, the Plan may be amended at any time by Council members, through a statutory Variation process. Please click here& scroll down to view details of adopted variations.
Details of proposed variations will be available following the publication of public notices inviting written submissions/ observations from all interested parties and respective stakeholders.
Proposed Variation No. 7 (Housing provision at Bessboro Road, Mahon; Sunview, South Douglas Road; Westside, Model Farm Road; and Former Bolands Mills, Old Mallow Road)
Cork City Council, in accordance with Section 13(2) of the Planning & Development Acts 2000 - 2018, has prepared the Proposed Variation No. 7 (Housing provision at Bessboro Road, Mahon; Sunview, South Douglas Road; Westside, Model Farm Road; and Former Bolands Mills, Old Mallow Road) of the Cork City Development Plan 2015 - 2021.
The proposed variation relates to the rezoning of the subject lands for social housing/ residential uses given the urgent need to increase housing supply in the City having regard to a growing population and an increasing demand for residential accommodation.
Copies of the proposed variation may be inspected at City Hall and all City libraries from 20th December 2019 - 25th January 2020 inclusive.
Written submissions received at City Hall by not later than 5.00 pm, 25th January 2020 will be taken into consideration before the making of the Proposed Variation.
