The Traffic Counter is temporarily closed.

If you require a Parking Permit, please place your completed application form and required documentation in an envelope provided and place in the box at the Main Reception.

  • Completed Application Form
  • Vehicle Licensing Cert/Log Book (VLC must be registered to applicants address)
  • Vehicle Insurance Certificate (insurance discs/schedules/cover letters are not accepted) & (must match applicants address)
  • Domestic bill dated within the last 3 months (electric/gas bill, landline phone bill, bank/visa/credit union statement. Official correspondence from Revenue/Social Welfare dated within the last 3 months) & (must match applicants address)

Payment can be made by Bank Draft, Cheque or Postal Order. If you wish to pay with a credit or debit card, please ensure your contact telephone number is on the application form and we will call you.

If you wish to appeal a Parking Fine, you can do so by email to parkingappeals@corkcity.ie or by completing an appeal form and placing it in the envelope provided.

Appeals cannot be accepted for Douglas. Please contact douglasappeals@apcoa.ie for further information.

Carer's Parking Permit

Application Form:   Family Carer Parking Permit

Family members may apply for a Carer’s Permit in the situation where the family needs to look after a family member on an ongoing daily basis.

Carer’s permits are only issued to family members. A family member includes; Father, Mother, Brother, Sister, Son, Daughter, Uncle, Aunt, Niece/Nephew, etc.

Permit Cost:

  • Carer’s permits are valid for one year at a cost of €20.


Required Documentation:

In order to apply for a Carer’s Permit the applicant (person requiring the care) is required to include the following with the Application:

  • Completed Application form
  • Utility Bill or Financial Statement dated within the last 3 months
  • Have the Medical Report section of the form completed by their G.P.

The following documentation in respect of each of the carer’s (maximum of 4 carers) is required to be included with the application form.

  • Vehicle Licensing Certificate or Log Book
  • Valid Vehicle Insurance Certificate

One permit may be issued and can include up to a maximum of 4 cars.

The permit must be displayed on the vehicle and visible for Traffic Wardens.

Change of Vehicle

If you are changing your vehicle and your current parking permit has not yet expired, it is possible to change the vehicle reg.

Work Permit

Work permits are available for commercially taxed vehicles in Cork City. Work permits cannot be used in any of the Pedestrian Streets i.e. Oliver Plunkett Street, etc, between 11am and 5pm daily.

Permit Cost:

  • 1 hour zone: €20 per day
  • 2 hour zone: €10 per day

Resident's Parking Permit

Residents parking permits allow permit holders to park their vehicle without a time restriction in a specific parking zone which includes the address of their residence.

Permit Cost:

One Year€20.00
Two Years (only available for owner occupiers)€40.00

Two year permits not available for applicants in Ballincollig or Douglas.

Utility Bill or Financial Statement dated within the last three months
PLEASE NOTE: All documentation must be addressed to the property which the permit is being sought.

In accordance with the policy of Cork City Council a residents parking permit will not be issued in the following cases:

Residents of a purpose built apartment block where off street parking has been constructed as part of the development will not be eligible for a residents permit.
Residents of a purpose built apartment block where development of the complex was completed after March 2004 will not be eligible for a residents permit.

The permit must be displayed on the vehicle and visible for Traffic Wardens.
