Purchase & Price of Plots

Plots are only available for immediate burial and must be purchased through an undertaker. Plots are not available to purchase in some cemeteries, contact your undertaker or cemetery registrar for details.

Plots are priced at €1,830 for an internal plot and €2,030 for an external plot. Burial charges vary by cemetery.

Niches are available to purchase at the Columbarium at St James Cemetery, Chetwynd. They are priced at €800 and can be purchased through an undertaker

Plot transfers

There are two types of Plot Transfers, application forms for both are available at the bottom of the page.

Transfer of Grant of Right of Burial (from deceased to living)

Often a family member may wish to transfer the right of burial in a plot from a deceased relative into their own name. To do this a form needs to be completed and returned to the Cemeteries section, accompanied by a solicitors or Commissioners for Oaths letter confirming details. All those with an interest in the plot (for example, the children of the deceased) will need to sign the document to consent to the transfer.

Assignment of Right of Burial

This occurs when a living person with a right of burial in a plot wishes to assign the right of burial to somebody else. The below form needs to be completed and returned to the Cemeteries section accompanied by the original Grant of Right of Burial.

Missing Deeds-Duplicate grant of right of burial

If an original Deed has been lost, the person who is the named Right of Burial holder can apply for a Duplicate Deed. The relevant form can be found at the bottom of the page
