Town and Village Grant Scheme 2020

Cork City Council will administer the Town & Village Renewal Scheme 2020 funded by the Department of Rural & Community Development. The Town and Village Renewal Scheme is a key part of Project Ireland 2040. 

Cork City Council now seeks Expressions of Interest from eligible towns and villages for funding of suitable projects under this initiative.

Purpose of Scheme:

The focus of the Town & Village Renewal Scheme is on improving the economic development and public-realm of towns and villages and making them more attractive places to live and work and increase their tourism potential. 

All applications will be subject to a selection process using national criteria. Selected expression of interest applications will be developed into detailed bids for consideration for the 2020 Town & Village Renewal Scheme.

There are two categories of Towns/Village as follows: Category 1: Towns and Villages with a population up to 5,000 people. Category 2: Towns with a population of 5,001 to 10,000 people.

Available Grant Amount:

The minimum grant available is €20,000 and the maximum grant generally available under the scheme is €100,000. A higher maximum amount of €200,000 may be available where a robust case can be made demonstrating exceptional benefit will accrue to a town.

Closing Date:

Closing date for receipt of initial Expression of Interest forms is 4.00pm on 31st July 2020.

Final applications will be developed into detailed bids and submitted to the Department by 28th August 2020. Provisional date for announcement of successful applicants is November 2020.
