The 120th Anniversary of the First Local Elections 1899

On 1st May, Cork City Hall will host a seminar entitled ‘LOCAL DEMOCRACY – PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE’. The seminar will be held in the Council Chambers, City Hall on 1st May, 5.00pm - 6.30pm and will reflect on 120 years of local democracy and local government.

Speakers include Lord Mayor of Cork, Councillor Mick Finn; Dr Aodh Quinlivan, Director, Centre for Local and Regional Governance, UCC; Jim Corr, former Lord Mayor of Cork; Joe Gavin, former City Manager; Dr Catherine Forde, lecturer, UCC; and Ann Doherty, Chief Executive of Cork City Council.
