Road Closure North Main Street

On Thursday evening June 20th, Cork City Fire and Building Control Department responded to a report of  a potentially dangerous structure on North Main Street.

The street was closed to ensure public safety and to enable Cork City Council’s Building Control inspectors to carry out an assessment of the structure.

In the interest of public safety, North Main Street remains closed to traffic until further notice as works to secure the structure are ongoing.  Traffic diversions are in place.

Pedestrian traffic on the eastern side of the street will not be impacted by the closure.

The owner of the building was contacted and advised of their responsibility in relation to the building.  The Building Control section is working with the building owner and their engineers in relation to making the building safe.
