Plan your polling day

Cork City Council is advising voters of the possibility of queues occurring at some polling stations at peak voting times tomorrow, Friday May 24th.

As final preparations are made for Polling Day, Cork City Local Returning Officer, Paul Moynihan has advised the public that voting in the city may take longer than normal.

“Unusually, there are 4 polls taking place. These are in respect of local elections, European Elections, the national divorce referendum and the plebiscite on the proposal for a directly elected Lord Mayor”, said Mr Moynihan. “Considering the fact that there are record numbers of candidates on some of the ballot papers, the physical process of casting your vote will certainly take extra time than would be normal.”

Cork City Council is advising the public to be prepared for possible delays and to plan accordingly.
