The preparation of a City Development Plan involves a 13 step process, including three public consultation phases. The first stage gives people an opportunity to put forward ideas and suggestions on the future development of Cork City. It is vital that a broad cross-section of people participate in the process to ensure that the plan reflects the priorities of the people of Cork.
While public meetings are not possible due to Covid-19 health and safety restrictions, Cork City Council are engaging with the public in a number of other ways, including a public opinion survey, webinars and the young people’s photographic competition. Full details are available at www.corkcitydevelopmentplan.ie
In addition, to help those who are considering how best to engage in making the new plan, members of the public will have an opportunity to have a short one to one meeting with a planner, using the new pods in the foyer of City Hall as a venue. These sessions will take place between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on August 12th and 13th, 2020.
If you would like to attend, please contact the Planning Policy Unit at Tel: (021) 4924757 or by email email@example.com to book an appointment. These meetings will take place in line with COVID-19 Government advice and will be by individual appointment only. Each pod will be cleaned and sanitised between sessions.
Please note that the Pre Draft Public Consultation Period ends on Thursday 21st August 2020. Submissions and observations are welcome through our online consultation portal at https://consult.corkcity.ie/
