How can I confirm what Register of Electors I am on?

You can identify whether your address is located within the new city boundary by using our interactive map .Simply enter your Eircode or address and the map will tell you what electoral area you are in – City or County.

Where is my polling station?

Your polling location will appear on your polling card, which will be issued before elections and referenda. You can also check by contacting the Register of Electors Section via 021 492 4444, Cork City Council's Customer Service line.

My neighbours are registered to vote in the City but I’m not sure if I am – how can I check this?

Firstly you can identify whether your address is located within the new city boundary by using our interactive map .Simply enter your Eircode or address and the map will tell you what electoral area you are in – City or County.  You can then go onto www.checktheregister.ie to find out if you are on the Register of Electors in the relevant local authority.

Can I vote in the Local Elections and in the Plebescite?

Resident Irish Citizens may vote at every election and referendum. Resident British Citizens may vote at Dáil, European and local elections only. Other resident EU Citizens may vote at European and local elections only.  Resident Non-EU Citizens may vote at local elections only. Everyone registered to vote in Cork City may vote in the Plebescite.
