EALTA / FLOCK
A Collaboration between visual artist Rachel Doolin and Cork Community Art Link
EALTA (flock) is a project conceived by artist Rachel Doolin in response to and anticipation of Cork Community Artlink’s St. Patricks Day installation (see here)
As the installation is inspired by the legend of the Goddess Cliodhna, Patron of Cork and the healing melody of her three other- worldly songbirds, Little Bird Babble artist Rachel Doolin invites members of the public - children and adults alike - to join the virtual FLOCK, by creating their own EARTHBIRDS.
Rachel coined the term EARTHBIRD, and defines it as:
Made using materials found in your garden, these Earthbirds serve as a symbol of hope, healing, togetherness and care, and hopefully bring a sense of delight to those who discover them.
Follow Rachel's video below, and the accompanying resource sheet here to make your own EARTHBIRD, then place it in your locality for others to enjoy, and possibly share even more widely, by uploading images to CCAL's Facebook or Instagram pages.
We can’t wait to see your EARTHBIRDS - these curious beasts full of whimsy and wonder will hopefully be dotted all over Cork City, County and far beyond.
