Cork Lights Up

The festive season really begins when the Christmas Lights come on in Cork City.

Over the weeks leading into Christmas, Cork City Council electricians, local community groups and several business associations really rallied together to put on a spectacular show for us all, on this year when it was especially important to have some sparkle, some warmth, and some joy.

See a list here of many of the local areas lit up this year, with images below. And here see some statistics on the lights along Patrick Street and Bishop Lucey Park alone.

Or, if you can't come see them yourself, join us for a fly-by tour of Cork City Lights, captured here by Cork City Civil Defence:

Lord Mayor Cllr. Joe Kavanagh, the Lady Mayoress Stephanie, and Chief Executive Ann Doherty lit the lights outside City Hall on November 18th, as the city was illuminated for Christmas.

Watch below as their young friend takes a walk with his mum through the city as it sparkles for Christmas.
