Parade Day City Access

Some road closures and diversions are necessary on Parade Day, and some bus routes are affected

 

ROAD CLOSURES

Note: Roads will open when safe to allow access, which could be in advance of advertised time.

  • Parnell Bridge Southbound
  • Anglesea Street West Lane (filter lane from Union Quay/Parnell Bridge)

11:15 to 15:00

  • Terence McSweeney Quay

11:15 to 17:30

  • Parnell Bridge
  • Parnell Place
  • South Mall
  • Grand Parade
  • St Patrick’s Street
  • St Patrick’s Bridge
  • Castle Street
  • Merchants Quay
  • Lavitt’s Quay East (Christy Ring Bridge to Saint Patrick’s Bridge)
  • Anderson’s Quay westbound (from Brian Boru Bridge to Merchant’s Quay)

Please also note: Lane restrictions will be in place on both Clontarf Bridge & Eglinton Street to restrict access onto Terence McSwiney Quay. This will also commence at 1100hrs

  

In addition, the following main streets will be directly affected and will be closed from 11.15am on Thursday, 17th March

  • Washington Street between South Main Street and Grand Parade
  • Parnell Place
  • Fr Matthew Quay
  • Morrison’s Quay
  • Half Moon St
  • Academy St
  • Drawbridge St
  • St Augustine Street

DIVERSIONS

Thursday, 17th March

The following traffic diversions will be in place to facilitate the road closures above:

  • South Terrace/George’s Quay – traffic will be diverted via Sullivan’s Quay & French’s Quay to either Greenmount or onto Washington Street and Bachelor’s Quay.
  • Lavitt’s Quay – traffic will be diverted across Christy Ring Bridge
  • No public traffic access to Lapps Quay

  

PARKING RESTRICTIONS

  • Copley St at area adjacent to former Brooks Haughton Building

Wednesday 16th March at 14:00 to Thursday 17th Marchat 16:00:

  • Copley St at area opposite the former Brooks Haughton Building, Anglesea Street, Lapps Quay, Anglesea Street adjacent St. Joachim & Ann’s Home.

Wednesday 16th March at 20:00 to Thursday 17th Marchat 17:30:

  • Patrick’s St, Emmet Place, Academy St, South Mall, Grand Parade, Parnell Place, Union Quay.

PARK & RIDE - Black Ash - Route 213

First service will depart from Black Ash Park & Ride Site at 09:00hrs, with final service from City Centre at 20:05hrs.

For duration of road closure, Route 213 will operate via Eglington Street

 

Services to Macroom/West Cork/Tralee

Routes 233; 236; 237; 239; 40 (Tralee) will depart from Parnell Place Bus Station, and serving the Provincial Bus Stop on Washington Street
