Pilot Protected Structure Grant Scheme

Cork City Council’s pilot incentive scheme is now open to building owners to help encourage the refurbishment and reoccupation of vacant commercial Protected Structures, primarily in office use, in the city centre. The pilot grant scheme comprises two separate, but related elements with each element supported by a detailed application form. The overall scheme comprises the following:

1.      A capital building improvement grant. The level of funding available is up to 75% of the total cost of eligible works, and up to a maximum value of €15,000 per Protected Structure.

 2.      A grant in lieu of rates waiver. Where an owner has secured funding under part 1 of the scheme above the City Council may make available a grant in lieu of rates waiver (on the part of the building occupied) on a sliding scale over three years to further incentivise the occupation of the building.
