Transport for Cork City is designed to create an attractive, accessible and sustainable city centre environment for residents, workers, shoppers and visitors through more efficient management of traffic on central city streets.
It will deliver a much enhanced city centre experience for pedestrians, cyclists and public transport users and will make Cork a more vibrant city, encourage inward investment and promote sustained economic growth.
The changes now being undertaken will expand the choices available to people who wish to travel within the city centre. They will improve journey times for buses and ensure that services are punctual and reliable. Changes to traffic signalling will improve traffic flow for all road users while improvements to the public realm will encourage more people to cycle or walk.
Works to achieve the improvement in the transport offering will inevitably cause some disruption over the coming months. However, these works are being planned & phased to minimise inconvenience. Coming into the city centre is easy; just follow the signage to navigate around the temporary restrictions.
