 MAJOR WORKS

****Egis Lagan on behalf of the NRA are currently carrying out resurfacing works on the eastbound carriageway of the N40 South Ring Road starting at J6 Kinsale Road Flyover to J10 Mahon Interchange. Bloomfield Interchange is also included as part of the works. Please note that the eastbound carriageway between Junction 8 (Douglas East) and Junction 10 (Mahon Interchange) will be closed to public traffic from 23.59 hours to 06.00 hours daily Monday to Saturday commencing on Thursday 30th October, 2014 until Sunday 30th November, 2014 to facilitate the resurfacing of a section of the N40 by EGIS Lagan Services, diversion route in place****

ONGOING WORKS

  • Installation of Christmas Lights on Patrick’s Street commencing on Tuesday 28th October 2014, possible delays expected
  • Wandesford Street: Lane closure in place until Thursday 27th November inclusive to facilitate scaffolding works on Chambers Bar Building
  • Watermain Contract on behalf of Irish Water – McGinty & O’Shea
  • Kent Station Works – Ward & Burke:
  • Patrick’s Quay: Lane restrictions in place i.e. reduced from three lanes to two lanes for the duration of Phase 3 Kent Station Works until 27th November 2014
  • Brian Boru Street: Lane restrictions in place i.e. reduced from three lanes to two lanes for the duration of Phase 3 Kent Station Works until 27th November 2014.
  • Railway Street: Northbound closure in place from the junction of Railway Street/Ship Street – junction of Railway Street/Lower Glanmire Road Tuesday 11th November 2014 (Ward & Burke)
  • Lower Glanmire Road (between Summer Hill North and Kent Station)
  • Road markings temporarily re-lined (parking bays suspended), pedestrian management in place between Ship Street/Brian-Boru Street/Lower Glanmire Road. Possible delays. Works ongoing until December 2014 (Ward & Burke)
  • Watermain Contract – MGOS: Localised works on Penrose Quay, Horgans Quay, works due for completion late November 2014
  • Parnell Place Renewal Project: Works near completion, late 2014 (McGinty&O’Shea)
  • Public Bike Scheme: Works for installation of public bikes
  • Brewery Corner, Blackpool: Road is now open on Lower John Street, Upper John Street & Watercourse Road, Cathedral Walk remains closed as works are still ongoing (Drainage Dept, CCC)

Saturday 8th November 2014

  • Ballinlough Road: Road closure from Elm Grove to Willow Lawn from 0900hrs – 1600hrs to facilitate water main repair (Water Dept), diversion route in place

Sunday 9th November 2014

  • North Main Street: Road closed from 0400hrs – 12noon to facilitate the installation of Christmas Lights - from the junction of North Main Street/Kyrl’s Quay to the junction of North Main Street/Castle Street, Adelaide Street closed, Kyle Street closed
  • Kyle Street: Closed from 12noon - 1600hrs to facilitate water main repair (Water Dept, CCC)

Monday 10th November 2014

  • The Marina: Road closed from Blackrock Village to Centre Park Road from 1000hrs – 1200hrs to facilitate road sweeping (Parks Dept, CCC)
  • Clontarf Bridge (at the junction with Terence MacSwiney Quay/Albert Quay West): Lane restriction in place from 1930hrs – 2330hrs to facilitate road reinstatement as part of the gas main works (BBCLG on behalf of Bord Gais)
  • Strawberry Hill: Road closure from 0930hrs – 1600hrs to facilitate road reinstatement (Roads North Dept)
  • Lynch’s Street: Road closed from 0900hrs today until Friday 21st November 2014 to facilitate the installation of a table top ramp (John O’Regan Tarmac)
  • Cross Douglas Road: Road closure southbound from 1930hrs – 2330hrs to facilitate water main repair (Water Dept), diversion route in place

Tuesday 11th November 2014

  • The Marina: Road closed from the jct of Centre Park Road to the eastern entrance to Lee Rowing from 0930hrs – 1530hrs to facilitate the construction of a pontoon, Stop/Go in place for the duration, delays expected.
  • Ship Street: Lane restrictions in place from 1000hrs – 1400hrs to facilitate gully installation (Roads Maintenance North)
  • Half Moon Street: Road closure in place from 1930hrs – 2330hrs to facilitate road reinstatement (BBCLG on behalf of Bord Gais)
  • Albert Quay West: Lane restrictions in place from 1930hrs – 0600hrs to facilitate road crossing for BAM development
  • Lynch’s Street: Road closed from 0900hrs today until Friday 21st November 2014 to facilitate the installation of a table top ramp (John O’Regan Tarmac)

Wednesday 12th November 2014

  • A number of streets will be closed tonight and there will be lane restrictions in place from 1900hrs – 2230hrs
  • Roads Closed: Oliver Plunkett Street, Grand Parade southbound, Maylor Street, St. Patrick’s Street, Drawbridge Street, Cornmarket Street, Kyle Street, North Main Street (from the jct with Adelaide Street), South Main Street (to the jct of Washington Street), Castle Street, Washington Street inbound (from the jct of Courthouse Street), St. Augustine Street, Academy Street

Thursday 13th November 2014

  • Road closed southbound from 1600hrs to 2100hrs at the junction of Merchants Quay/St. Patrick’s Street to the junction of Academy Street/St. Patrick’s Street. Southbound lane on St. Patrick’s Street open to all southbound traffic from Academy Street.
  • Road closed northbound from 1600hrs – 2100hrs at the junction of Washington Street/Grand Parade to the junction of Drawbridge Street/St. Patrick’s Street.
