Submissions Invited on Proposed Variation to City Development Plan & Proposed Amendment to South Docks Local Area Plan On 3 February 2012 Cork City Council published a notice advising that it has prepared a proposed Variation of the Cork City Development Plan 2009 - 2015 (Variation No. 7 - Marina Park – Páirc Úi Chaoimh) and a proposed Amendment to the South Docks Local Area Plan, 2008.  Both proposals relate to the re-zoning of 6.82 acres of ‘Public Open Space’ to ‘Sports Grounds’ at the former Munster Agricultural Society Showgrounds in order to facilitate the redevelopment of Páirc Úi Chaoimh, and an ‘all weather’ playing pitch. 

Contract Signed for Economic Proposition ReportCork City Council has signed a contract with Colliers International to prepare an economic proposition report for Cork Docklands. City Manager, Tim Lucey, said: “this report, which is part-funded by Government, will provide a revised and updated road map for the redevelopment of the Docklands in the current changed economic circumstances. The Colliers –led team have already demonstrated an innovative approach based on world-wide experience”.
