St. Fin Barres cathedral has a large collection of plaster casts that were used as models for the stone sculptures that now adorn the cathedral. In February 2005 several of these were removed from the Cathedral about brought to Cork Public Museum. Here conservator Jason Ellis worked to clean and restore them. Members of the public were encouraged to interact with the conservator by questioning him on his actions and techniques and the work he was doing. The restored plaster casts formed part of an exhibition on the work of architect William Burges later in 2005.
